Personalised papercuts

Remember my Liberty fabric backed papercuts I posted about a few weeks ago?  Well I was contacted a little while ago by a lovely lady that is getting married this summer and wanted to commission me to make some personalised papercuts for her to gift to her three bridesmaids.  What a lovely idea eh?!

It's got my mind whirring with new ideas... bride and groom names, children's names to hang in a nursery... watch this space!  I love working on commissions and knowing that my papercuts are a little part of someone's special day!

Sunday snippets

A little snapshot of my week

~ Planting up some free Wahaca chilli seeds.  Grow little ones!

~ Pretty beach huts on a windswept day

~ Carnations still going strong after three weeks.  They are so under rated and I love that for a few pounds you can fill several vases for many weeks!

~ Literally can't stop eating these at the moment!  I guess there are worse addictions...

~ A lovely commission for a special little boy's christening

A small break and some new Liberty print papercuts

Well hello there....
Deary me, it's been a while!  If you follow me on Instagram, you will see me pop up regularly on there but this little corner of the internet has been sadly neglected of late.

Here is a little snapshot of what I have been up to and I promise I will be back blogging here more regularly in the future!  I've missed you and it feels nice to be back!

New postcard sized papercuts that are backed with delicious Liberty Lawn cotton.
These are available in my Etsy shop.

My crochet has taken a back seat this year and has given way to a new hexagonal patchwork project.  More on that in my next post....

Love is in the air

Lately, I've been working on some lovely wedding papercuts.  It's definitely wedding season and who doesn't love a good wedding?!

Never one to need an excuse to celebrate all things romantic, I was inspired to design a new papercut that I hope you all like.  Each letter is made up of little tendrils of foliage, each leaf measuring about 2mm so it's quite a delicate piece.
I'm thinking the design would translate well with lots of different song lyrics and sweet words.

Weddings, weddings, weddings!

Just checking in to tell you about a lovely blog I have recently discovered - BeckaBonce

Each week Rebecca features a themed collection of lovely handmade items around the webosphere.

This week the theme is 'Weddings' and you may just spot a little something from yours truly in the collection....

Previous weeks have included foxes, tea and stripey items and there's always bound to be something included that gives you a bad case of the havetohaves!

Vintage cameras

A new papercut just up in my Etsy shop, inspired by my ever growing collection of them!

Remember the days of having to choose reeeeally carefully which 24 photos you wanted to take?!.... Then being really disappointed when only 12 of them came out right!
It all adds to the charm though!

Home sweet home

I hope you're all having a good weekend, whatever you're up to.  This weekend I've been working on a new Home Sweet Home papercut for the shop

I've just received a very exciting commission which I can't wait to get started on and I'm also working on a little collaboration with someone very special too so my scalpel is going to be very busy!  Just the way I like it!

Have a lovely Sunday evening and I'll be back soon to tell you all about my recent bread making adventures!

Dinosaurs didn't read

I have never needed much excuse to bury my nose in a good book, it has to be said, but if you're in any doubt, this may just make you think twice.

If those poor dinosaurs only had access to a local library, things may be very different around here these days....

Free as a bird...

I've had the idea for this papercut buzzing around my head for some time now so it was good to finally get my scalpel to it!
Motivated by the sunny weather of late, here is my little ode to Spring, birdsong, freedom and everything just being a little bit more lovely than before!

Have a lovely sunny day!

One foot in February

So, here we are firmly in February, having waved goodbye to January and I for one, was sad to see it go.  Life rushes by all too quickly and January seems to have been no exception.  All I seem to hear lately are people bemoaning what they call a long, bleak month.  Yes, it's cold.  Yes, it's dark, Yes, it's a little bit of a come down after the joy of Christmas but the days are drawing out now and the promise of Spring is most definitely in the air.  The first daffodils are peeping up from the ground and for me, January always bring with it the excitement of things to come in this brand spanking new year.

I have been a very busy little papercutter in the last few weeks with some sweet commissions and some new things for the shop including pretty papercut bunting.

I'm not sure if I've mentioned my love of crochet here before but I've recently learnt to ripple (using the wonderful pattern from Attic24) I locked myself in a quiet room for all the necessary counting at the beginning and that dastardly long foundation chain (255!) but once I was on the second row, I relaxed into it and am now totally hooked!  It's going to be double bed sized as I'd like it to act as a bedspread on colder nights.  I'm just using up a lot of odds and ends of Stylecraft DK yarn and trying to be as random as my OCD orderly brain will let me!
Here it is so far....

A bit of a way to go....
Enjoy your Sunday poppets!
